The Need to Explain Yourself All the Time Is Exhausting

You don’t owe everyone a reason

Somewhere along the way, you learned to explain everything.

Why you're quiet. Why you’re tired. Why you don’t feel like going out.
Why you said no. Why you changed your mind. Why you need time to think.

Not because you want to but because if you don’t, you fear someone will misunderstand, or pull away, or think less of you.

You’ve been trained to believe your choices need permission.
That your boundaries need a backstory.
That your peace has to be justified to be respected.

And it’s draining you.

You are allowed to live without explaining every single move.
You are allowed to make quiet decisions that serve you even if no one else gets it.

That isn’t selfish. That’s self-respect.
